Daniel Cobelo

Daniel Cobelo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 13, 1972. He started working at the age of 12 and has not stopped ever since. For several years he promoted teens’ nightclubs located within the City of Buenos Aires.

At the age of 16, he managed a famous nightclub for teenagers, and had the responsibility of promoting weekends’ parties, planning and coordinating weekly events, and supervising over 200 teens that were part of his promotional team. A year later, he started dancing for famous national TV shows, and soon after he became a choreographer.

In 1994 he partnered with Freddy Padilla—former World Techno-Roller Champion and founded Roller Dancing Team (RDT). RDT successfully promoted rollerblading products and activities in many cities by offering private classes, organizing city tours (on rollers), working with municipalities to promote safety programs for children, roller-dancing for several TV shows, private nightclubs, shows. During those years (1994-1996), Daniel Cobelo joined a large retail-store and became a computer-related products and services professional’s salesperson. In 1995 he was hired by Computer Argentine Institute (I.A.C.) as a trainer.

In 1997 he immigrated to United States and started his professional parking career with Central Parking Systems as valet parking attendant for the Hyatt Regency Downtown Miami. During his first two years in parking, Daniel was hired by Quik Park of Florida, and two months later he became the manager for the valet parking operations at the 150 America office building, located in the heart of downtown Miami. Soon he was transferred to New World Tower as the manager. After a short period of time, he was transferred to City of Miami Beach Anchor Garage.

His hard work, passion, and dedication allowed him to grow within Quik Park, from Project Manager to Area Manager, and lastly to Miami/Coconut Grove Operations Manager. Daniel left Quik Park and started working for AAA Parking to develop the Daytona Beach area, and after to manage the Orlando Universal Studios Loews Hotels Portfolio (Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, and Royal Pacific Resort). After the first year as Valet Operations Manager, AAA Parking moved him to manage the valet parking operations and to set up a new self-parking operation for the Marriott World Center Kissimmee.

After he finalized the project, he was offered to join Standard Parking in Orlando. He managed The Westin Grand Bohemian in downtown Orlando for several months. In September of 2003, Daniel was transferred to South Florida to manage the City of Miami Beach parking operations. After of almost three years of hard work, he was promoted to Senior Manager and was given Boca Raton to manage the valet parking operations at Mizner Park and to assist former Regional/Vice President David Hoyt with Business Development.

In June of 2007, he started working for City of Hollywood Office of Parking Services. During the same year, he become Certified Parking Professional (C.P.P.) by the National Parking Association. Throughout his 3 years with the city, Daniel Cobelo had the opportunity to open two new city owned public/residential parking garages (Radius Condominium and Garfield St. Garage). At the end of 2008, he founded, designed, and promoted a worldwide parking-related website called www.parkingcommunity.com, free for visitors and members, and with a total of 79 countries visiting it every month.

In January of 2010, he decided to start a Parking Consulting business and assisted Laz Parking with several of their South Florida parking facilities (Mizner Park, Bank of America Lot, and 1111 Lincoln Rd Garage). In February of 2011, He started a new parking consulting, management, and auditing company named Starling Parking, LLC. You may visit his Web site at: www.starlingparking.com .
